Welcome to the month of May! Our spiritual and prayer focus for the
month of May is RATIONALITY. As we enter the last two months of this
school year, remaining focused on the academic demands, while the
weather is nice, is not an easy task for students! Please help your
child to continue to focus on his/her routine and commitment to school
in order to finish the year successfully. Once again, the month of May
is supercharged with activities, Math contests as well as the Part A
Written Component of the Grade 9 PAT for English Language Arts!
To update you in the area of extra-curricular activities; in athletics,
we are nearing the end of Badminton season with the group having great
success. The team has been picked for Slo-pitch and Track and Field is
just around the corner! The school Performance Band are off on a great
trip to Vancouver until Saturday, May 5th; we pray for their safe
return. Grade 7 Band and Concert Band proudly represented St. Rose at
the Kiwanis Music Festival at the end of April with both groups
receiving a rating of Distinction!
Please find enclosed calendars for both May and June that will assist
you in organizing the last two months. We will be hosting the Grade 9
Farewell on Friday, June 1. The final exam schedule is also included on
the June calendar.
We wish all of our mothers a wonderful Mother’s Day.

A MOTHER’S DAY PRAYER
God our Creator, we pray:
for new mothers, coming to terms with new responsibility;
for expectant mothers, wondering and waiting;
for those who are tired, stressed or depressed;
for those who struggle to balance the tasks of work and family;
for those who are unable to feed their children due to poverty;
for those whose children have physical, mental or emotional
disabilities;
for those who have children they do not want;
for those who raise children on their own;
for those who have lost a child;
for those who care for the children of others;
for those whose children have left home;
and for those whose desire to be a mother has not been fulfilled.
Bless all mothers, that their love may be deep and tender,
and that they may lead their children to know and do what is good,
living not for themselves alone, but for God and for others.
